Enough Smirking!

The Sport of Stairs!
Well
 ... a bit of a Tan gent
Not [!]

[This is a bit of a Mitt-Flop from a long story short.  But you learn something everyday.  In my case it is very embarassing, having constucted a home, that yes it is proper to use a stair for a step, as long as you don't trip.  Not to mention where I may have gone if I had had more sports.  But if it is not too late, don't miss the Stairs link.  It covers one of several topics covered at a weekend get together with friends.  Taxes that is.  Not to mention dressage*.  Little did I know that I actually know someone who participates in that sport.]

* well not in the same link, don't forget the sport.

** This originated in a pun on Brewer and the SCOTUS in their two rulings today. Three of the four key ingredients of 1070 were over-turned and the only one standing duplicates federal law.  So basically it was overturned and leaves the state with existing law.  In the Citizens United/Montana ruling federal law was upheld as well, or rather state law was over-turned as well.  To keep this from getting messy, I will simply insert a few Ed Schultz links.

Obtuseness Redux.
Why does Social Security Need 174,000 bullets?

Get the lede out?

Not to bury any ironies or unintended puns...
The first two links are referenced in the next two lines.
The third line and two links are in regard to the heading, and to the sources.
The "Obtuseness Redux" were from Comcast/AP
But I first went local then tan gent or BaneOr BainOr...
the punchline has to do with they nature of Infowars(the site), a bit more journalistic and fair and balanced than FOX, not that they do not require very careful reads.   The four links seem to represent a sort of unsorting and GPS un-crossroads dynamic. And for my part, the first aspect has to do with the irony of any whining about Social Security having an Inspector General division that hunts down fraud, in this age of second amendment fruit salad or T-parties. And for the sake of any intelligence briefs or geeks, "lede" is a journalistic term not a bullet point.  The last two links are a good un-cross Rhodes* of the left.  Not quite Tin-Foil Hats, not quite Coffee Party, but maybe close enough. "I'm king of the world!"

Speaking of being in the same boat * and cheesiest lines.

Gordon Brown floats a line: The G20 conference is no Bretton Woods but the kind of inflation we need is from the G2 to the G20 and the kind of deflation is from our leaders to chairs at the tables.

And the only thing more important than the four pillars of Obamanomics ** is holding the world together before it sinks together.

[The world is not the Titanic nor just a movie, but that does not mean there is not a tip of an iceberg.]
[More heads up at another table.]
[Just in case you wonder about the top line, the bottomline is "we the people"]

* "We the People" to "King of the World": "YOU'RE FIRED!" ...a letter from Michael Moore

** A Plea to Congress
Obamanomics:
We are all in this together.
Focus on the comprehensive if hard to comprehend interrelatedness of Education, Energy, Healthcare and World Finance.
Not to mention the cost of peace.

Trickle Down Employment or Intelligent Design?
Or is the tripartite design of the stimulus the design that gives an alternative to bipartisanship or return to partisanship?

I'm guessing recalculations might be in order.
P.S. Has Louisiana's economy really not been hit as hard a most or is it like the global warming scam? It would seem that following Katrina and with the slow trickle down of aide, the needs and opportunities could be the reason or is it season. I am inserting irony here, others can insert the facts or economics of comparative recovery from disasters. Does this translate to hope or luck in Louisianna and for whom?

The project  ?   The dance
"Esotericism is the practice, widely employed by a variety of thinkers prior to and up through the early Enlightenment, of disguising their real meaning through ellipsis, surface contradiction, dispersal of their real arguments, and the like (indeed—they were misleading casual readers about their true intentions!). The understanding that philosophers like Plato and Aristotle made use of esotericism was central to Strauss’s own project of returning to their thought as an antidote to what he called the “crisis of modernity”, since it pointed to deeper truths hidden behind the evident meaning extracted by superficial readers. It was probably also one of the sources of distrust of Strauss and his followers by other academics, since it implied that initiates into the art of esoteric interpretation had access to meanings unavailable to others." Francis Fukuyama.
Or Ecto~tonics of Aristotle?  Less than Ionic that paranormal came up in  English [?]
P.4,The Prince misquote? P.5 "undermine dogmatism" bingo~? P.6 Nietzsche Recurrance
"That latter struggle was ultimately won, and led to the triumph of the “harmonist” view, now almost universally accepted, that philosophical truth could be made compatible with and indeed supportive of modern politics. Transparency is today the name of that venerable game. Classical philosophers like Plato and Aristotle had a different view; namely, that philosophical skepticism undermined the irrational beliefs necessary to the maintenance of a political community and therefore needed to be kept under wraps. As Melzer points out, there is a large body of contemporary scholarship that actively contends that virtually no one other than a few cranks ever wrote esoterically; he performs a great service by, first, showing that the claim is empirically wrong, and second, that it is itself an historically contingent interpretation." (ibid.)

(3)  The Be All and End All?

Pen~ta-gone? i.e. P5
"This section of the book is wonderfully erudite and leaves no uncertainty that esotericism was indeed a major art that is now all but lost. Melzer points to four reasons for past uses of esotericism. First, it served as protection from prosecution; he notes its widespread use in totalitarian countries like the former Soviet Union and contemporary China. Second, it served to protect the political community from dangerous truths, such as philosophical skepticism about the city’s gods and traditions; third, it served a pedagogical purpose by forcing readers to engage on a deeper level; and fourth, it was used as a transitional strategy for modern writers seeking to undermine dogmatism." (ibid)
P6?  At this Platonic # I will note Aristotle's place in the Nietzschean struggle.
Hence Fukuyama is a difficult read of Strauss and Plato who are difficult reads.

P7? "If Philosophy Between the Lines were simply a book..." (where P = par.) I might plow on[!]
@9   "Strauss’s central concern was what he called the 'crisis of modernity', where the project of using philosophical reason for practical purposes was in danger of collapse."
@12 "The recovery of the rationalist project was central to Strauss’s life work—"
Having now fully read it, I will let you decide.
